A common first workflow is simply: when someone fills in the form on our website, tell the team in Slack. Here is how to build it from an empty canvas.
1. Create a Slack incoming webhook
In Slack, open Apps, find Incoming Webhooks, add it to the channel you want, and copy the URL it gives you. It starts with https://hooks.slack.com/services/. Paste it on the Integrations page in VisualFlowBuilder and press Connect; we send a test message so you can see it worked.
2. Build the workflow
- Create a new workflow and add a Trigger. Set its App to Webhook.
- Add an Action, set its App to Slack, and write the message, for example:
New enquiry from {{name}} ({{email}}): {{message}} - Copy the workflow's webhook URL.
3. Point the form at it
Most form tools have a webhook or "send to URL" option in their integrations settings. Paste the URL there. If your form is your own HTML, a small fetch() call that POSTs the fields as JSON does the same job.
4. Make urgent messages stand out
Insert a summarize & classify step between the trigger and the action, then add a Condition on priority equals "high". Connect the yes branch to a Slack action that starts with a clear marker, for example "URGENT:", and the no branch to the ordinary message. Test both with Test run before you switch the form over.
